Roomates

We make every effort to place campers in a cabin with their friends, as indicated on your child's registration form. While we remain sensitive to special needs situations, Lake Beauty's policy encourages only two or three campers, from the same church, to be housed together. This promotes making new friends, which is beneficial for a child's healthy social development.

Transportation

If your child is in need of transportation, call the camp office and we may be able to put you in touch with someone in your area who is coming to camp the same week. We suggest you check with your church first.

Medication

If you are sending medication with your child, please place origional container in a zip lock bag marked with the camper's name. Bag and label medications separately; include clear instructions for use. Again, under no circumstance should uncontained medications be stored in the same bag. All medications will be turned in to the camp nurse during registration for dispensing. If no medication is sent, campers will be treated in accordance with the camp's standing orders, as reviewed by a qualified physician. *Campers who use inhalers are asked, if possible, to please bring two. THe camper will keep one and the nurse will keep the other in the infirmary.

Once You Are Here...

Check-In

The location for check-in is our air-conditioned multi-purpose building which is located directly across from the main lodge. Our staff will direct you as you arrive.

Programming

Programs are designed to provide unique opportunities for campers to discover God's Word, establish a firm basis for truth, validate and strengthen their faith, and develop lasting relationships.

Discipline

Any camper disregarding camp rules is subject to being sent home without refund. Campers who willfully destroy property will be held responsible and charged accordingly.

Offering

Each summer Lake Beauty Bible Camp, in association with 23 other Covenant Camps, designates monies contributed by campers to a specific missionary project.

An offering which helps fund the ongoing ministry opportunities at Lake Beauty is taken during closing chapel on the last day of camp. While campers are encouraged to share in the joy of giving, offerings are taken on a voluntary basis.

Horse Trail Rides

Scheduled during free times at $10 or $20 per ride (depending on age group, free for Joyful Juniors).
Participants:

  1. Will be given basic introductory safety instruction.
  2. Should dress appropriately. We require jeans/pants and closed-toed shoes/boots.
  3. Will be required to wear protective head gear, which the camp provides.
  4. Joyful Junior rides led by staff.

Parent/Guardian must have indicated their permission, by signing the appropriate line on the Camper Registration Form, for the camper to participate. Fee must be paid during registartion on the first day.
Please talk with your child before camp to ensure they want to ride as the fee is non-refundable. Experienced trail guides seek to ensure a safe, fun ride.

Daily Visitors

Guests are welcome to visit the camp on the last day (check schedule to confirm). Visits during other days are discouraged. Please inform the camp's office if you plan to join us for the closing noon meal (See Departure for costs of meals). All visitors are required to register with the office.

Phone Calls

To encourage your child's emotional growth, we strongly discourage campers from calling home. We also kindly request that you please do not call campers except in cases of scheduling changes for pickup or emergency. Making outgoing calls collect or calling card calls will be permitted only under special circumstances - but not for daily check-ins. Certainly parents/guardians will be contacted by camp personnel in the event of emergency or discerned need.

Mail for Campers

Every camper enjoys a letter, postcard, surprise package, or email from home (please note camper's name in subject line). We highly encourage hand written letters as they are the most treasured.

Address mail using camper's name to:
Lake Beauty Bible Camp
25766 Hummmingbird Trail
Long Prairie, MN 56347-9734
Emails - distributed to cabins (please no Photos/attachments) to: lbbc@lbbc.com

*To be stewards of our resources, please limit emails to one per day. Emails are screened for appropriateness before distributing.

Health

A camp nurse is on duty at all times. Campers with special needs will be cared for directly by the camp nurse or assigned personnel. A clinic and hospital are located within minutes of the camp. Camp personnel will seek to notify parents/guardians in the event of an emergency or health concern.

Adopt a Summer Staff

To create a network of support and encourage further growth for the summer staff, we now allow you or your church group to "adopt a summer staffer." This allows us to purchase books and DVDs on topics of spiritual growth and counselor issues. More importantly, we ask you pray daily for your staff member by name. Please email Angela for more information.

Lost and Found

Lake Beauty seeks to help campers return home iwth all their belongings. You can assist us by marking all items your child brings to camp. It also helps to include a packing check-off list for your child to use when repacking for home. It is also suggested campers not bring items of great value. Please report lost items immediately. Lake Beauty cannot be responsible for items lost or left behind - although we will do our best to locate lost items.

Additional Parent Information

Insurance

Lake Beauty's accident insurance provides secondary coverage. This means that any medical bill resulting from illness or injury to a camper must first be submitted to the parent's/guardian's health provider. Please call the camp should you have any questions regarding insurance coverage.

Homesickness

We want your child to have a positive experience at camp. A homesick prevention tip: never tell your child "if you get homesick, we will come and get you." You can always pick up your child if they are homesick. Most children, even staff, feel homesick at some time; it's natural. However, the "crutch" often proves to be the downfall. Feel free to call the camp director at any time to check up on your child, but please don't call your child unless it's an emergency. We do encourage you to write.

Refunds

The $50 deposit (required to register) is non-refundable but may be transferred as an initial deposit for another camper who will be attending the same week of camp. It may not be applied toward another camper's balance. Except in the case of a doctor's order, no refund will be made for campers who leave before the end of a camp session, for whatever reason, will still be required t opay the full registration fee. Rates will not be prorated.

Open Admissions

Lake Beauty Bible Camp welcomes all guests regardless of race, color, sex, age, handicap, or national origin. Any person who believes that he or she has been discriminated agains in any USDA-related activity should write:
